nothing too fancy..just a top cover rail ready for an eotech red dot.

I have a top rail on mine too - riveted to the dust cover.......it's raised so that you can still use the iron sights. Is yours like this ?

Personally I found the cover mount to be unstable.

I have Ultimark gas tube mounts on my Yugos with Eotech's. One is a underfolder the other has a collapsible stock. G2 triggers, That's it, don't need anything else to weigh them down.

You're right about that one.........I plan to use mine only for a red dot laser and/or tactical light.

Mine's a tri-rail and I think it'd be useful if one could mount an extra mag on the side somehow.

Those AK side rail mounts can and most likely will need to be shimmed to align better with the axis of the barrel. It is fairly simple and metal shims, washers, etc. can be used.

that would be the one. Mine seems like it is pretty solid. Don't know how solid it needs to be with a red dot out to 100 yds. If I need to move out further I will deploy a 308

On one of my Norinco MAK90s I modified the butthole stock.

First I removed all of the furniture, then I stripped the finish and sanded where needed. Using a sanding drum on a dremel moto-tool I opened up the hole in the stock. Making the hole larger and allowing more room for your hand between your thumb and wrist. Then I cut down the diameter of the grip.

I finished it off with a new stain and linseed oil finish. It looks 10x better than it did from the factory and feels much better when you hold it.

Here's my Maadi MISR. It started life as a Clinton era AWB MAK-90, with the thumbhole stock. I did the tapco trigger group, new furniture (Tapco T-6 buttstock, Saw pistol grip, AK74 style hand guards with rails, and new gas piston to get the US part count up. I have an Eotech 552 knockoff, laser and flashlight that I'll be putting on it soon. It will be sooo Tacticool. My long term plans include a US flashhider, new bayonet lug and new metal folding rail that will attach at the rear leaf sight.
